Pir Ghulam Mohiyuddin Gilani(R.A) famous as Babu ji ,the son of Pir Mehr Ali Shah(R.A).....

Hazrat Pir Syed Ghulam Mohiyuddin Gilani Sahib (R.A) (famous as Babu Ji) was the renowned son of the greatest saint of the era / time Hazrat Pir Syed Mehir Ali Shah Sahib (R.A) (Hazrat Qibla Alam).  He was born on the Sacred Soil of Golra Sharif in 1888 A.D. i.e. 1308 A.H.He attained 86 years of age which was full of preaching Islam & Sunnah to the general public at large & his followers in particular and passed away on 22-06-1974  (i.e. 2nd Jamadi-us-Sani 1394 (A.H).  He remained 37 years as GADDI NASHEEN  (CHAIR HOLDER) at the Shrine of Golra Shareef.

On the occasion of birth of Hazrat Babu Ji (R.A), Hazrat Syedna Pir Mehir Ali Shah (R.A) was very happy and said that for me, the happiness stems primarily from the fact that a soul blessed will follow his foot prints to communicate message of Allah to the world with the constant remembrance of Allah has arrived in our family.  His 3 / 4th part of life passed in prayers and remembrance of Almighty Allah and service to people.  He had two great sons namely Hazrat Pir Syed Ghulam Moinuddin Shah Gilani (famous as Baray Lala Ji (R.A) (he was named by Hazrat Pir Mehir Ali Shah (R.A) himself) and Hazrat Shah Abdul Haq, (Chotay Lala Ji).

Famous as Babu Ji, he was a great Pivotal Sufi Saint, a Scholar and a eminent Spiritual successor inasmuch as very much popular by his nature, a blend of love / affection, sincerity, purity, comfort, humility, a bud of flower and being knowledgeable statesman, peoples of all walks of life who come to Golra Sharif have great respect to Babu Ji.  Hazrat Qibla Alam groomed him-up under his own guidance and special attention which ultimately turned Babu Ji into true Janasheen and Successor of Hazrat Qibla Alam and Astana-e-Alia Golra Sharif.

Hazrat Qibla Alam during his life conferred the mantle of khilaafat to him and advised for “BA’IT” (i.e. to enroll disciple) who desire of it and also to preach the Islamic Ideology.  Babu Ji showed reluctance to perform this high nature of responsibility in the presence of Hazrat Qibla Alam.  Hazrat Qibla Babu Ji didn’t agree upon the advice of Hazrat Qibla Alam till such time, he (Hazrat Qibla Alam) promised that who will take BA’IT on your hand (to be come disciple) his responsibility rest upon me.  This is great example of Sharing of Khilaafat and Babu Ji proved as true spiritual successor resulting “ZAYERINES” coming to Golra Sharif with religious fervor and enthusiasm. After the demise of Qibla Alam significance of Golra Sharif remained alike as that of during the life time of Hazrat Qibla Alam. He was a great religious scholar and used to give fatwa’s during his routine sittings on various religious / contentions issues which were settled / redressed in accordance with Islamic Ideology / Ahadith / Fiqh for which Babu Ji was master of it.  Babu Ji travelled world wide for preaching of Islam and contributed a lot. In addition to Holly Land of Saudi Arabia, he visited Beirut, Damascus (Syria), Baitul Muqadas, (Yeroshlem) Egypt, Geneva, Paris (France), United Kingdom, Germany, Roam, Turkey and Baghdad Sharif (Iraq).  He paid visit on the holy shrines of Aulia Allah located in some of these countries.     Expansion of Masjid in Golra Sharif and roza of Hazrat Pir Mehir Ali Shah Sahib (R.A) was undertaken during his guidance & supervision.

He contributed a lot during the independent movement of creation of Pakistan. After independent, there were some act of invasion occurred and murder of Non-Muslims were taking place in the area situated in this part of country.  In keeping with true Islamic teaching / Costumes Hazrat Qibla Babu Ji, under his own command / control, not only took special care of the Non-Muslims (who were living in Golra Shareef) about their lives and property but also made arrangements to send them off to India.  He also contributed and played pivotal role as per Islamic traditions to help out the Country when a war was imposed on Pakistan in 1965.

In his book containing 101 precious letters, the book is referred as  “FARMODAT MUSAFAR CHAND ROZA” (English, Directives; Passenger for few days). Babu Ji strictly directed (i) observance of NIMAZ, (ii) behave the peoples with humility (iii) Eradicate “Proudness” (iv) the main thing in this book, Babu Ji concentrate on the verdict that a human being is for a few days in this life and live as a passenger for few days.  This is referred in Quran as “Every thing on earth passeth away, save his face”.  He ensured / regularized lavish lungar for “ZAYERINES” i.e. three times a day at Dargah-e-Golra Sharif.  Qawali become a regular feature in Golra Sharif in which, Qawals Ustad Mehbood & Mushtaq Sahiban used to preach Islam in their unique style / way in Qawali Mehfils. He took special care to groom and train his beloved grandson Hazartt Pir Syed Ghulam Nasiruddin Nasir (R.A) to follow his foot prints in his field, which made him a real successor of this great Gaddi of Golra Sharif. Due to his hectic efforts in prosecution of Islamic Science, he became as master of Islamic Education / Science, a great poet of seven languages of national eminence having melody VOICE and resourceful person.  Hazrat Pir Naseer (R.A) was a replica and mirror of Babu Ji and Syedna Pir Mehir Ali Shah (R.A).

Hazrat Qibla Babu Ji was most fond of Railway Engine which was bench mark for him and he often said that Railway Engine itself burns but provides comfort to  passengers board on it, secondly he said that Engine run on straight track (means SIRAT-E-MUSTAQEEM) and the Engine also take away the compartments connected with its to destination at straight path.  This verdict reflects great thought to develop life on the principle of Islam inasmuch as has a great message for Muslims / followers of Peer ji who also ought to adopt same principle for themselves in the life.  Moreso when the teacher of his two sons died (passed away) in Golra Shareef he neither compromised nor took any care of luxurious or un-comfort viz-a-viz near / far. He decided to send his both sons (i) Hazarat Baray Lala Ji (R.A) and (ii) Chotay Lala Ji to JAMIA ABBASIA, BAHAWALPUR under supervison of Shaikhul Jamia Moulana Ghulam Muhammad Ghotvi (R.A) a trustworthy personality and a disciple of Qibla Alam for completion of religious study.  Due to personal attention / special care of Babu Ji about religious studies under the guidance of great teachers / ulmas that’s why Baray Lala Ji became a master of Islamic Science, great Poet of Hamd-o-Naat, Manaqib, ghazils in Urdu & Persian and a prolific writer.   The Railway fare from Golra Shareef to Bahawalpur was about Rs.7/- per head in 1938.  Hazrat Qibla Babu Ji also advised his both sons to travel in the then III Class Compartment.  Some of follower of Hazrat Qibla Babu Ji advised or requested that both sons may be permitted to travel in II class in Railway in keeping with huge rush in III class, but he refused and said that when a person himself will not endure any trouble and look for luxurious, how he can realize the suffering of others.  Hazrat Qibla Babu Ji (R.A) always advised his both sons to serve the peoples with humility and enthusiasm and extend all best services to “ZAYERINES” comes to Golra Shareef.  In these days Golra Shareef is still an example of distinguish as was in the past.
